Maureen Edna (Locke) Boyes

Maureen Edna Boyes, 90 of Tamarack died Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at Villa Court in Cromwell.  She was born December 22, 1934 in Minneapolis the daughter of Maurice and Edna (Hunziker) Locke.  She attended schools in Minneapolis, graduating with honors from North High School in 1952.  She worked as a secretary at the University of Minnesota from 1952 – 1966.  Maureen was united in marriage to Gene Wallace Boyes on February 20, 1965 in Minneapolis.  They moved to Tamarack in 1966 and she worked as a receptionist / secretary at Pineland Telephone Co. in McGregor and as a paraprofessional at the McGregor Elementary School from 1974 until retirement in 1997.  She served as Clark Township Treasurer for 7 years, attended Tamarack Presbyterian Church serving in many offices and later attended Tamarack Lutheran Church serving as Treasurer.  She was preceded in death by her husband Gene and her parents.  Maureen is survived by her Sons and daughter-in-law: Terry and Nona Boyes and Scott Boyes; Brother and sister-in-law: Grant (Nora) Locke; Sister Janette Locke; many other special relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 1pm – Sunday, May 25, 2025 at Round Lake Presbyterian Church, McGregor.  Pastor Diane Brennan will be the officiant.  Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the church.  Burial will be in the Round Lake Cemetery.  Arrangements are with McGregor Funeral Home in McGregor.  To leave a message of condolence go to www.srtfuneral.com
