Michael James Boyd, lovingly known as Mick or Mickey, age 71, of Aitkin, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center – East Bank.  He was Born on September 12, 1953, in Aitkin, Minnesota, Mick was the son of Glenn and Dorothy (Woodrow) Boyd. He graduated from Aitkin High School in 1971 and later went on to own and manage Boyd's Aitkin Lumber, which he operated with pride for over 20 years.  Mick was a man who lived fully and simply, cherishing time with family and friends above all else. Whether it was hunting, fishing, camping, shooting trap, playing horseshoes, bowling, cribbage, or even a quiet game of solitaire, Mick found joy in the moment and in the company around him.  He is survived by his siblings, LeRoy, Glenn “Tuffy”, Nancy, Edee, and Ruth; his children, Travis, Adam, and Krystle; and his granddaughter, Olivia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Dorothy Boyd.

A Celebration of Life will be 2pm to 6pm Saturday, July 19, 2025 at The 40 Club Convention Center in Aitkin.  Friends and family are warmly invited to come share stories, memories, and laughter in honor of a life well-lived.  Flowers and memorials will be accepted by Michael’s family at the celebration.
