Neil Allen Thon

Neil Allen Thon, 75 of McGregor passed away Friday, September 16, 2022 at his residence.  He was born June 10, 1947 in Minneapolis to Frank and Delpha Thon.  He grew up and attended schools in south Minneapolis.  He attended Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis for cabinet making.  Neil was united in marriage to Lois Fermoyle on August 8, 1970 at the Basilica of Saint Mary in Minneapolis.  Their first home was in Princeton.  He worked as a cabinet maker all his working years and coached girls soccer for 11 years.  After retiring they moved to McGregor where they lived in the house they built on Horseshoe Lake.  He was able to enjoy ice fishing and tinkering in his pole barn.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother John.

Grandchildren: Nathan, Jackson, Sophia, Aubrey, and Olivia

Sister and brother-in-law: Barbara (Robert) Raudenbush

Sister-in-law: Virginia Thon

Many special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A Celebration of Neil’s Life will be 1pm – Saturday, May 6, 2023 at the Mcgregor Community Center in McGregor.  Pastor John Mulkern will be the Officiant.  Arrangements are with McGregor Funeral Home & Cremation Services of McGregor.
