Nicole Freeman Obituary

Nicole Elizabeth (Nikki Liz) Freeman age 50 was born on November 27, 1975 in Duluth the daughter of Dallas and Diane (Fredrickson) Smith.  She went to see Jesus on February 24, 2026 as a result of an icy road car crash.  Nikki was a pleasant person to have touch your life. She had a very good balance of appropriate confrontation and compassion so as to communicate reality with a tender heart. She embraced Jesus and Christianity at an early age. Even at a young age she could have one-on-one conversations with adults and the adults would talk about her vocabulary and confident expressiveness.  She had several degrees in the counseling field having attended Boise State University and Bethel College. Coming along side other parents raising special needs children was her focus and specialty. She will be greatly missed by those who received compassionate guidance from her in raising these special children. She was a delight to those she worked with.  Things Nikki Loved: Drawing, Poetry, Christmas, Rudolf the Red Nose reindeer, the show “Friends,” Mexican food, Anne of Green Gables, Vacation at the Lake, Her Fuzzy Things (cats and dogs), Her Chickens, Her family; her brother and sister, her parents, her niece and nephew, her kids, her grandkids, her friends, her aunts and uncles, her cousins, her church family, her husband (her Honey Bunny), and most importantly she loved Jesus above all. She was the kindest and greatest woman that we had the privilege to know. She loved and helped us all. Her life verse: Hebrews 12:12-13.  She married her soulmate Aaron Freeman on August 2, 2003. They lived in Elk River for several years then moved to Garrison, MN in 2023 where Aaron Pastors the Garrison Alliance Church. She was an important part of the Church and will be missed very much.  She is survived by her Husband Aaron John Freeman; two children: Hannah Aimee Lynn Freeman and Isaac Freeman;  three grandchildren: Sadie Joy Lynn Bohart, Colt Jaydee Allen Bohart, and Wesson Allen Bohart;  parents Dallas and Diane Smith; sister Nela Williams (Jesse); brother Dustin. Also, by a large number of Uncles, Aunts and Cousins.  She was preceded in death by her Grandparents, she so much loved her Grandpas and Grandmas and is now enjoying them again in heaven, Marvin and Jennie Smith and Martin and Marilyn Fredrickson, Also, cousin Kendra and Aunt Karen (Brian) Johnson.  

A Funeral Service to celebrate Nicole’s life will begin at 2pm – Sunday, March 8, 2026 at Northwoods Church in Aitkin.  Arrangements are with Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home in Aitkin.  www.srtfuneral.com
