Nicole Lee Watkins

Nicole Lee Watkins, 43 of McGregor received her angel wings on July 21, 2026 after a 9 month battle with cancer.  She was born April 1, 1983 in Aitkin.  Nicole loved all of life, feeding every animal in her yard she could see.  She had an empathy-driven, inclusive, super loyal, altruistic nature toward everyone she met, yet was shy and reserved.  Her greatest achievement in life was being the best Mom she could be to her 5 sons.  Together, Nicole and her Mom, Tammy, operated Lucky Ducksters just north of McGregor.  Nicole was the powerhouse and strength of the business until she grew ill.  She was preceded in death by her Father Wesley Watkins, Grandmother Rhonda Bruggman and Uncle Donavan Horsman.  Nicole leaves behind her five sons: Joshua Watkins (23), Darian Morgart (21), Calob Corey (17), Tristin Watkins (12), and Alexander Wilke (11);  Mom Tammy Horsman Sundberg; Boyfriend Christopher Struwve; Brothers: Jeremy (Michelle) Watkins of Duluth and James (Cassi) Sparks of Zimmerman; Aunt and Uncle Dawn and Dave Evans of Superior, WI.; Grandfather Gerald (Onie) Horsman of Apache Junction, AZ.;  many half siblings from other families, and many other special relatives and friends.  Darian will continue raising  Nicole’s 3 sons: Calob, Tristin and Alexander.   Nicole is missed and loved more than any words can express.

A Celebration of Life will be 1pm to 5pm Sunday, August 16, 2026 at the McGregor Community Center.  Memorials can be sent to Darian Morgart thru Venmo @darianmorgart or can be sent to Lucky Ducksters, 45993 State Hwy 65, McGregor, MN. 55760.
