Patricia (Pat) Tweedy, 79, passed away on Saturday, March 21st, 2026 at Golden Horizon in Aitkin. Pat was born in Dubuque, Iowa, on October 15th, 1946, to Dorrance and Corella Runde. She has one older brother and five younger sisters. In 1964 she graduated from Crosby-Ironton High School.
She met Mike Killeen from Aitkin, MN. They were married October 1968 at the Basilica of Saint Mary’s in Minneapolis. Mike and Pat had two boys, Joseph Scott of Eagan, MN and Thomas Michael of Inver Grove Heights, MN.
Pat, Mike and the boys moved to Aurora, Colorado in 1972 where Pat lived and worked until moving back to Crosby in the early 1990’s. In Colorado, Pat worked as a receptionist in the cabinet and countertop industry working her way up to be the first woman salesperson within her company. Pat took great pride as a single mother of her two boys, Joe and Tom. She was a dedicated and loving mother.
Pat loved being outdoors. She loved family time at her sibling's lake cabins where swimming, sunning, kayaking and playing with her grand kids were at the top of her list. She also had a beautiful flower garden that she planted and maintained for nearly 20 years at her apartment in Crosby. Pat was a passionate and active member of the Deerwood AA club where she was looked up to and gave many talks about her journey to sobriety. Pat certainly had a zest for life. She was a fighter, in more ways than one!
Pat is preceded in death by her parents Dorrance (DW) and Corella Runde, sister Sue Runde, brother-in-law Jim Bockelmann. Pat is survived by son Joe (Naomi) Killeen, grandchildren Conner and Mackenzie, son Tom (Suzin) Killeen and grandchild Taylor, brother, Mike (Cindy) Runde, sisters Tina Roach, Debbie (Larry) Olander, Lori (Larry) Elrod, Cheri Bockelmann and numerous nieces and nephews.
Our family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Golden Horizons Assisted Living and Rivers Edge Assisted Living in Aitkin for their exemplary care for the last several years.
A Celebration of Life for Pat will be held at the Ironton Legion Club on Friday, June 19th from 11:00 – 1:00.
