Paul Harvey Anderson

Paul Harvey Anderson, 81 of Aitkin died Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at his home.  He was born June 4, 1943 in Aitkin the son of Harold Wesley and Selma Cecelia (Pearson) Anderson.  After graduating in 1961 from Aitkin High School he joined the Peace Corps from 1963 to 1965 where he served in Colombia, South America.  He attended the University of Minnesota and earned a Masters Degree in Education from the University of South Carolina.  While in South Carolina he was a member of the Teachers Corps. 

Paul was united in marriage to Susan Kay Steinhaus on December 16, 1967 in Minneapolis.  He was a science teacher for Mahtomedi Schools and the CFO for Sunrise Health Services Inc., providing home health care services in Chisago County and surrounding areas.  Paul was past president for the Minnesota State Home Care Association.  He enjoyed  traveling, gardening, photography and beekeeping. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Selma Anderson and his brother Len Anderson. 

Paul is survived by his wife Susan Anderson of Aitkin;

Children: Nathan Anderson and wife Carolyn from Elk River and Rita James – Anderson and wife Kenya from Oakland, CA;

Grandchildren: Gunnar Sinclair Anderson and Piper Sinclair Anderson; Brothers: Maurice Anderson and Tami Buetow of North Branch and Tim Anderson of Mora;

Sisters-in-law: Bethel Anderson of Duluth and Jackie Johnson of Aitkin;

Many other special relatives and friends who mourn his passing.

Funeral service will be11:00am - Saturday, October 12,  2024 at Glory Baptist Church, Aitkin.  Pastor Randy Stauter will be the officiant.  Visitation will be 1 hour priot to the service at the church.  Burial will be in the Glory Baptist Cemetery.  Arrangements are with Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Aitkin.  To leave a message of condolence, please go to www.srtfuneral.com  Memorials a preferred to Glory Baptist Church or to Habitat for Humanity.
