Richard Paul Hesch joined his heavenly home surrounded by his loving family Tuesday, May 21, 2024 from complications of Type 1 Diabetes. He was born January 10, 1944 in Brainerd the son of Paul and Lillian (Tokvam) Hesch. He graduated from Crosby Ironton High School in 1962. Richard was united in marriage to the one and only love of his life, Marilyn Kay Matthews on February 5, 1966 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Crosby. He worked for MacDonald Wold in Aitkin for 48 years retiring in 2013. Richard always enjoyed helping his family, spending time with them and doing different home projects. He was very careful and meticulous in what ever he did. He was a member of the United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Severt Hesch and his nephew Boyd Ashley Hesch.
Richard is survived by his wife Marilyn Hesch of Aitkin;
son Kelly Hesch of Pequot Lakes; daughter Kristie Rider of Brainerd;
4 grandchildren: Grady Hesch, Mac (Katy) Jones, Kouper Seidl and Kingsleigh Seidl; 2 great-grandchildren: Jackson Jones and Colton Jones;
sister and brother-in-law: AnnMarie (Severin) Wesolowski of Grand Forks; nephews: Severt (Champ) Hesch, Paul Hesch and Corrie Wesolowski; nieces: Kim Ostrowski, Janelle Bosaaen, Paula McKellar and Kari Bosche.
Richard was the most selfless, humble, hard working man who will be missed far beyond any words; we are eternally grateful he has been healed and is safe in the arms of Jesus.
Funeral service will be 11am – Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at the United Methodist Church in Aitkin. Pastor Dawn Houser will be the Officiant. Visitation will be 5 to 7pm Monday, June 3 at Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home in Aitkin and will continue 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby.
