Richard J. Kimmer, 86 of Palisade passed away Monday, February 19, 2024 at Aitkin Health Services in Aitkin. He was born January 29, 1938 in Hopkins to John and Blanche (Hromadko) Kimmer. He grew up in Hopkins, graduated from high school, and enlisted in the U.S. Armed Forces. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy after 4 years of service and then attended Dunwoody Institute becoming a Master Tool & Die Machinist. Richard was united in marriage to Sharon (Tobias) on September 9, 1961 in Hopkins. He enjoyed fishing, mowing his lawn, attending Hilltop Chapel, and was a member of the Waukenabo Up North Club.
Richard loved his Family, friends and neighbors, they were very important to him.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Carol Robinson.
Richard is survived by his wife Sharon; 2 daughters and sons-in-law: Lynn (Dave) Henney of Maple Grove and Diane (Arden) Jedlicka of Rochester; Grandchildren: Laura (Erik) Karlson, Michael Henney, Matthew (Beth) Jedlicka, and Andrew (Ellie) Jedlicka; Great-grandchildren: April, Owen, Amara, Aubrey, and a great-grand baby due in April; Brother and sister-in-law: Paul (Wendy) Kimmer and many other special relative and friends who mourn his passing.
