Robert Lee Ferlita, Jr. 57 of Aitkin died Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at Essentia - St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth. He was born November 25, 1968 in Aitkin the son of Robert Lee and Marilyn Rae (Johnson) Ferlita, Sr. He graduated from Nashwauk – Keewatin High School in 1987and then attended Hibbing Technical College studying diesel Mechanics. He worked at Floe International as a welder for many years and at American Peat. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was known for his big heart, he would literally give you the shirt off his back. Robert was a good friend to all. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Melissia. Robert is survived by his aunt Jeannie Thompson; uncle Arlo (Teresa) Johnson; cousins: Shawn Martz and Tara Renaud; and many other relatives and friends.
A celebration of Roberts life will be from 2pm to 4pm, Saturday, April 18, 2026 at the Moose Lodge #1060 in Aitkin. Arrangements are with Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Aitkin. www.srtfuneral.com
