Farming Rural 21

Robert Daniel Kiehm II

January 9, 1954 ~ April 21, 2020 (age 66)

Robert Daniel Kiehm II, 66, of Palisade, and formerly of Delavan, passed away April 21, 2020, at his home.   "Bob" was  born January 9, 1954 to Willard H. Kiehm and Lurene E (Martin) Kiehm at Blue Earth.

He graduated from Delavan High School in 1972 but also had spent his junior year attending the former Waseca Ag School.   Bob started farming with his dad when he was just sixteen years old which provided him with a great deal of knowledge when it came to making something grow. Over the years, he grew potatoes, corn, wheat, oats and canola but he was especially proud of his soybeans.

On July 30, 1977, Bob married Nancy Kretchmer, his high school sweetheart, at Blue Earth, MN.    It was in August of 1978, that they moved Palisade to farm south of town.   Besides farming, Bob did body work, welding, road construction and over the road trucking for several years.  He enjoyed having coffee with his friends at the local cafe as well as hunting and fishing in Canada.

Bob is survived by his wife, Nancy; sons, Robert W. Kiehm of Palisade and Brett A. Kiehm of North Branch; daughter, Jacquelyn L Kiehm of Aitkin; mother, Lurene E. Kiehm of Wilmar; brother, Martin E. (Betty) Kiehm of Farmington and  sister, Naomi L. (Greg) Johnson of New London along with several nieces, nephews and  friends.

Because of the COVID-19 Coronavirus  there will be no services at this time but a celebration may be held at a later date.  A private burial service will be held at a later date at Delavan.  Arrangements are with Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Aitkin.  To leave a  message of condolence please go to
