Robert “Bob” Henry DeWitt, 51 of Outing, MN. Passed away suddenly from a tragic accident on Thursday, May 30, 2024. He was born February 19, 1973 in Aitkin the son of Jerry and Sharon DeWitt and his birth mother Cathy Geving. He graduated from Aitkin High School in 1992. Bob was united in marriage to Taya Freeburg on September 30, 1995 in Brainerd. Together they have two children: Justice DeWitt and Damian DeWitt. He was a self-employed “Jack of all trades” or in his case “Bob of all Trades” and a hard-working provider for his family. He enjoyed woodworking, mechanics and carpentry. He was a creative man who could turn log stumps into beautiful furniture. He designed and built wood tables for different businesses including: The Pickled Loon in Grand Rapids and The Channel and The Village in Outing. Bob would build his own trucks and enjoyed participating in mud bog competition. He loved the great outdoors and was often found hunting, fishing, boating and camping. He was an awesome cook with a green thumb for gardening. Bob was always available to anyone who needed a helping hand. He loved being a Dad, Papa, Brother and Uncle to his family. He was preceded in death by grandparents Robert and Virginia Burns, Lawrence “Date” Weston, Hank and Millie Weimer, brother James Johnson and 2 grandchildren.
Bob is survived by his wife Taya, 2 children: Justice (Branson) DeWitt of Deerwood and Damian (Aviana) DeWitt of Crosby, his beloved granddaughter Raven and an unborn grandchild due to arrive in December. His parents Jerry and Sharon DeWitt of Palisade, Cathy Geving of McGregor, brother Raymond (Angela) DeWitt of Palisade, Randy (Emy) DeWitt of Hermantown, nieces and Nephews: Bryan DeWitt, Colton DeWitt, AJ Johnson, Millie Johnson, Darian Fredrickson, grandmother Iris Weston of Grand Rapids and many special aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will miss him greatly.
Funeral service will be 1:00pm – Tuesday, June 18, at Hilltop Chapel, Palisade. Pastor Joel Holm will be the officiant. Visitation will begin at 11am until the 1:00pm service at the church.
