Russell Anton Fahrendorff, Jr.

Russell A. Fahrendorff, Jr.  76, of Wright died  Friday, January 9, 2026 at Essentia St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth.  He was born July 8, 1949 in Minneapolis the son of Russell and Rodina (Compton) Fahrendorff, Sr.  He grew up in Minneapolis and attended Edison High School and then Dunwoody Institute.  He was a US Army Veteran serving in the Vietnam War.  Russell was united in marriage to Omok “Tina” Chon on February 27, 1971 in Minneapolis. He worked as an autobody repair man for many years and was a life member of the McGregor VFW.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, the outdoors, traveling, riding his Harley, tinkering in his garage and a little Capt. Morgan.  Russell loved being with his family, playing cards on the holidays and he was very proud of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife Tina, parents Russell, Sr. and Rodina and sisters: Barbara Kruse and Audrey Bergman.  Russell is survived by his 4 daughters and sons-in-law: Sonia (Daniel) Becker, Sandra (Ross) Tesch, Michelle (Blake) Freeman, Tammy Fahrendorff; 8 grandchildren: Erica Fleming, Savanna Johnson, Adrian Johnson, Mason Freeman, Brady Freeman, Madison Freeman, Tahlia Fahrendorff, Riley Fahrendorff; 4 great-grandchildren: Nikolai, Bodhi, Claire, Lindsey; 1 great granddaughter on the way; 2 sisters: Diane Cherioli, Betty Maznio; And many other special relatives and friends.

A celebration of life will be 11am – Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at Grace Lutheran Church-The Log Church, McGregor.  Pastor Lorelie Robinson will officiate.  Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service.  Military honors will be accorded by the McGregor VFW Larson Duneen Post #1727 and American Legion Dale Wayrynen Post #23.  Lunch & fellowship will follow at the church.  Burial will be 11:30am – Thursday at Morningside Cemetery in Coon Rapids.  Arrangements are with McGregor Funeral Home in McGregor.  To leave a message of condolence go to www.srtfuneral.com
