Ruth J. Jorgensen, 99 of Aitkin died March 23, 2024 at Aicota Health Care Center in Aitkin. She was born July 31, 1924 in Storm Lake, Iowa the daughter of Joe and Anna (Richter) Thompson. She grew up and attended school in Iowa and after graduating high school she worked as a dental assistant. During World War II she worked at Montgomery Wards and then she worked with the inventor of the wire recorder in Chicago. She moved to California to work for Paulson Norden a defense contractor. Ruth was united in marriage to Robert C. Jorgensen on September 25, 1945 in Storm Lake, Iowa. They moved to Bloomington, MN. and then to the Aitkin area in 2005. She was a volunteer at Aitkin Health Services where she worked with the card recycling. She enjoyed a variety of arts and crafts and was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church, Aitkin. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert, son Larry and three sisters. Ruth is survived by her sons: Gary, Richard, and Michael; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many other special relatives and friends who mourn her passing.
