Ruth Elaine (Parkki) Sundberg

Ruth Elaine Sundberg, 79 of Tamarack died Monday, June 17, 2024 at North Shores Estates in Duluth.  She was born September 13, 1944 in Aitkin County to Auno and Dorothy (Anderson) Parkki.  Ruth was united in marriage to Robert Sundberg on February20, 1965 in Moose Lake.  They made their home in McGregor and together they enjoyed bowling and fishing.  She worked as a cook for many different business’ in the area including the Downtown Café, School House Café, Buckhorn Bar, McGregor Hotel, and for the McGregor VFW Breakfasts.  She was preceded in death by her husband Robert in 2012, daughter Elaine, sister and brother-in-law: Phyllis(Lyle), brother Eugene, and her parents.  Ruth is survived by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Richard (Lois) Sundberg, Leonard Sundberg, Roger (Susan) Sundberg, Gail (Gary) Wells, Lester (Diane) Sundberg, Paul (Karla) Sundberg, Nancy Hagen, Walter Sundberg and many special cousins, other relatives and friends who mourn her passing.  Ruth’s family would like to thank all the community members that helped to care for her over the years.

Funeral service will be 1pm – Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at McGregor Funeral Home in McGregor.  Pastor Lisa Jordan will be the officiant.  Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Salo Cemetery.  Go to www.srtfuneral.com to leave a message of condolence.
