Sara (Buirge) Kennedy

Sara Kennedy, 81, of McGregor, went to her heavenly home peacefully on Monday, July 1, 2024.  She was born May 16, 1943 in Minneapolis to Dr. Raymond and Bee (Thayer) Buirge.  Sara was united in marriage to Charles Kennedy on March 29, 1975 in Hilltop.  Sara worked as a Bookkeeper for Anoka County for 22 years.  She enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling to Branson, Missouri, going to concerts, listening to Irish music “Celtic Thunder” and her horse, Dapper.  Sara had a deep love for her family and friends and always had a smile on her face.  She loved her church and the Lord and will be deeply missed.

Sara is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Charles Buirge.

Sara is survived by her husband Charles “Charlie” Kennedy; daughter, SuAnn (Steve) McAlpin; step-daughter, Lisa Meredith; grandchildren, Morgan (Drew) Rudzinski, Courtney (Brett) Koch, Lindsey (Zach) Cole, Hunter Beckstrom, Josey Beckstrom and Tanner Meredith; great grandchildren, Remi Rudzinski and Zander Cole and 1 great granddaughter, Kennedy, arriving soon; sister, Susan (Jiro) Buirge; brother-in-law, Norman (Nam) Kennedy; sister-in-law, Kay Buirge; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services will be Friday, July 12, 2024 at 12 PM in Round Lake Presbyterian Church, 16652 Goshawk Street, McGregor, MN 55760.  Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the church.  Interment will be in Round Lake Cemetery, Shamrock Township, Aitkin County.  To leave a message of condolence, please visit: www.srtfuneral.com.  Arrangements are with McGregor Funeral Home and Cremation Service, McGregor.
