Obituary

Shirley Amundson, 77 of Aitkin, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Rivers Edge Assisted Living in Aitkin.  She was born July 26, 1945 in Becker to Louis and Clara (Hohlen) Amundson.  She enjoyed bowling, watching the Minnesota Twins and playing Bingo.  Shirley especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Dee Kingsley, Kenny Amundson, Donny Hohlen and Vernon Amundson. 

Shirley is survived by her children: Sheila (Troy) Johnson

and Shawn Amundson;

4 grandchildren: Kaija, Korie, Kyle and Kody;

3 sisters: Rose (LeRoy) Aamodt, Ivy Holm and Lou (Ben) Jensen;

3 brothers: Dick (Barb) Amundson, Bob (Darlene) Amundson

and Marvin (Linda) Amundson;

Sister-in-law Rosemary Amundson;

And many other special relatives and friends who mourn her passing.

 

A Celebration of Shirley’s Life will begin at 2pm – Saturday, February 4, 2023 at the American Legion Lee Post #86 in Aitkin.  Arrangements are with Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Aitkin.
