Steven E. Grams, age 74, of Ramsey, MN, and part-time resident of Hill City, MN, passed away on May 10, 2026, due to natural causes.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Betty; nephew Matthew; and stepson Chad. He is survived by his wife, Susan; brother, David (Cheryl); sister, Sheryl (Glenn); daughter, Theresa (Jim); stepdaughters, Leanne (Scott), Raena (Steve), and Jenny (Braden); grandchildren, Ethan and Ruby Sue; nieces, nephew and cousins.
Steven was born in November 1951 to Melvin and Betty in Minneapolis, MN. In 1958, Steven’s parents bought land in Hill City, where he spent many of his summers, making it his “happy place.”
Steven graduated from Anoka High School in 1970, where he played football and participated in track and field. After graduation, Steven joined the U.S. Air Force. Although he was stationed in Minot, ND, he was able to see much of the world, most notably Greenland. After completing his service in the U.S. Air Force, Steven moved to Pipestone, MN, where he attended and graduated from meat-cutting school. Shortly after graduating, Steven began working for SuperValu, where he remained for more than 40 years.
Steven was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and hunting with his dad, brother, daughter Theresa, and close friends. Steven also enjoyed his walks in nature with his close friends, whom he often met for coffee and hikes.
Steven passed away exactly as he would have wanted -- in his boat in the middle of his favorite lake, with his fishing partner and best friend, brother David, doing what he loved.
Steven will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and customers. To leave a message of condolence, please visit: www.srtfuneral.com. Arrangements are with Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Aitkin.
