Thomas Krohg Obituary

Thomas Andrew Krohg was born on Wednesday, December 30, 1964, to William and Borghild Krohg at Methodist Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The youngest of three sons, Tom was welcomed into the family by his older brothers, Paul and Gary. He was baptized at a local Lutheran church and graduated from Jefferson High School in Bloomington, Minnesota, in 1983. He later attended the University of Minnesota Duluth.

Growing up in a proud Norwegian and musical family, Tom developed a lifelong love of music. In 1984, he joined Outreach for Christ International, a singing group that traveled throughout Europe, including Norway, and into Russia. During the trip, he met Michelle (Langloss) Leget. The couple were married on August 30, 1986, in Crooks, South Dakota.

They made their home in Crooks, where Tom served as a volunteer firefighter. They welcomed two children, Lindsey Alysa in 1987 and Christian James in 1989. The couple divorced in 1998.

Tom later returned to his home state of Minnesota, where he met Janelle, a fellow Minnesota native, and her son, Austin Douglas Moore. Tom and Janelle were married at Beaver Trails Campground in Austin, Minnesota, on July 22, 2006. Tom later adopted Austin.

The couple lived in several communities throughout Minnesota. Tom enjoyed fishing, hiking in the woods, and biking. He had a kind heart and a love for animals, especially dogs, which he treated as members of the family. He often gave them goofy voices and spoke for them. Tom continued his love of music by learning to play the ukulele and enjoyed jamming with others.

Tom dreamed of living in a cabin in the woods of northern Minnesota, and in recent years, that dream became a reality. It was there that his life came to an end on July 15, 2026, at the age of 61.

Tom is survived by his wife, Janelle (Fralick); his children, Lindsey (Sean) Emly, Christian (Kara Lehman) Krohg, and Austin Moore; and his grandchildren, Marcus and Makenna Emly, Caleb and Joshua Krohg, and one granddaughter on the way.

He is also survived by his mother, Borghild (Bringedahl) Krohg; his brothers, Paul (Annette Kohlmeyer) Krohg and Gary (Jeany Young) Krohg; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Krohg; his grandparents, Christian and Nora (Ness) Krohg and Dewey and Dagne (Meyers) Bringedahl; and Tyler Moore, Austin’s twin brother.
