Timothy Lee Holsten, 60, of Palisade, passed away at his home on Saturday, November 18th, 2023. He was born April 7th, 1963, in Aurora, Illinois to Marvin and Beverly (Casey) Holsten. He graduated from Aitkin High School in 1981 and joined the U.S. Marines, serving from 1981-1984. He was a machinist at K&L Grinding in Maple Grove for 30 years until he retired in 2019 and moved back to Palisade. He loved being back home at the farm surrounded by his family, his parents (Marv and Bev), and his girlfriend (Rose) and her family. He enjoyed creating things with wood and was a skilled blacksmith. He was a proud member of the NRA and The American Legion. He always had a Labrador retriever by his side, loved deer hunting, and had a passion for collecting guns. Tim was a long-time member of the Palisade Mountain Men. His happiest memories included spending time at the Mountain Man Fort, building his own cannons, and competing in competitions shooting guns, cannons, and axe throwing. He was fondly referred to as “Festes” by his brothers at The Fort.
Tim was preceded in death by his Grandparents: Annette and Ward Casey, Angelo and Mildred Holsten, brother-in-law Leslie Mindrum, as well as an aunt and several uncles.
Tim is survived by his parents: Marv (Bev) Holsten, his sister: Kim Mindrum, nephew: Kyle (Kylie) Mindrum, niece: Casey (Garret) Hoheisel, Girlfriend: Rose Rian, her daughters: Christy Lynn Rian, Jennifer Rose Rian-Borders, Brandi Pearl Rian (Sam Kemp), Bobbi Jean Ridge (John Sink). Many special grandchildren and great nieces and nephew will miss him dearly.
