Vera Louise (Bailey) Abbott Grams

Vera Louise Abbott Grams, 93, of Tamarack, formerly of Mora passed away Friday, April 25, 2025 at her home.  She was born November 6, 1931 in McGregor to Baisel and Gladys (Turner) Bailey.  When Vera was 3 years old, her family moved to Kalispell, Montana where they lived until she was 12 years old.  Vera graduated from McGregor Hish School in June of 1950.  She was united in marriage to Ronald Vincent Abbott on September 16, 1950.  She and Ronald moved to Anchorage, Alaska where Vera enjoyed  working at the Elmendorf Air Force Base.  She and Ron purchased and opened the Down Town Café in McGregor and were working in Realty.  Vera’s final work out of the home was at North Country Gifts. After her husband Ronald passed, Vera met Roger Grams.  They were married on August 17, 1991.  They resided on Knife Lake near Mora for 17 years before moving into the town of Mora where they spent 12 years.  Vera and Roger moved several times to assisted living apartments in the twin cities area.  Her final move was in October of 2023 to son Gary’s home in Tamarack.

Vera is preceded in death by husbands, Ronald Abbott and Roger Grams; her parents; brothers, Richard, Jigs and Douglas Bailey; father and mother-in-law, Sam and Irene (Easter) Abbott; brother-in-law, Raymond Abbott.

Vera is survived by 2 sons, Bruce(Fran) Abbott of McGregor and Gary (Kari) Abbott of Tamarack; step-children, Cynthia (Jim) Gmach of Corcoran, Randy (Sandy) Grams of  Bovey and Wendy Grams of Blaine; grandchildren, Sheena (Nick) Kiphuth, Shawn (Jade)Abbott, Jason Abbott; step grandchildren, Graham (Alli) Gmach, Garrett (LisaMarie) Gmach and Kelsey Grams, Charla Meyer & Chad Huhta; several great grandchildren; siblings, Norman (Linda) Bailey of Tennessee and Bett (Ralph) Henrikson of Deerwood; other relatives and friends.

Services will be Friday,  June 20,2025 at 2:00 P.M. in Our Saviors Lutheran Church, McGregor with Pastor John Thomson officiating.  Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the church.  Interment will be in Woodland Cemetery, McGregor.  To leave a message of condolence, please visit:  www.srtfuneral.com.  Arrangements are with McGregor Funeral Home and Cremation Service, McGregor.
