Vernon Virgil Voss

Vernon Virgil Voss, age 79, of Isle died Friday, August 30, 2019 at Malmo, Minnesota.

Vernon was born July 2, 1940 in Jackson County, Minnesota the son of Harry and Ida (Bastman) Voss. He moved with his family to the Isle area as a baby and he grew up and attended schools at the Eastwood School and then the Isle Schools. He worked with his father on the farm doing dairy farming. He also worked in a sawmill. He married RoseAnne Hendrickson on June 6, 1959 at the Malmo Free Church in Malmo, Minnesota. They made their home on the farm and he continued to farm with the dairy herd until 1980 when he converted to beef cattle. Vernon was a jack of all trades and could fix anything. He enjoyed his horses and farmed with them for many years. Vernon and RoseAnne had just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.

He is survived by his wife RoseAnne Voss of Isle, Children: Sandy (Dean) Cochran of Braham, Mn., Gayle Voss of Isle, Mn., Keith (Debbie) Voss of Watha, N.C., Doris Chadwick of Supply, N.C., Nancy (Kenneth) Freeman of Bryson, N.C.; 8 Grandchildren; 6 Great Grandchildren; 1 Brother: Lonnie (Marlys) Voss of Milaca, 2 Sisters: Blanche Samuelson of Aitkin and June Nickel of Bruce, Wisc. He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 sisters.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 5, 2019 at 1 PM from the Isle Free Church with Rev. Kerry Johnston officiating. Visitation will be from 11 AM until the 1 PM service at the church. Interment will be in the Lakeside Cemetery near Malmo. Arrangements are with the Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Aitkin.
