Warren Marsyla Obituary

Warren Milton Marsyla of Tamarack, Minnesota, went to be with the Lord, peacefully on July 21st, which also happened to be his 85th birthday. He was born to Wayne and Mable Marsyla in Cook, Minnesota.  Warren was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and community member. He married the love of his life in August 1963, and they shared 57 wonderful years together before her passing. Together they raised three children and were blessed with six grandchildren, but it was their great-grandchildren who truly delighted him.  If there was one word that defined Warren, it was servant. He lived a life that reflected Christ—not through grand gestures, preaching, or recognition, but through quiet, faithful service. He was always in motion, always finding someone to help, something to fix, or a burden to lighten. Dependable and steady, he worked with his hands and gave of himself until his very last day, leaving behind a legacy of humility, generosity, and unwavering love in action. He will be deeply missed by those who loved him and by those who simply had the privilege of experiencing his kindness.  Warren never missed an event, even if he was only there briefly and left wildly early. He showed up, and in the end, that’s what mattered.  Warren spent most of his career with the Minnesota Department of Transportation. Retirement was brief because a life not in motion simply didn’t suit him. He soon became a professional helper at his son’s NAPA store, where he worked until the day he died. He took that role seriously and loved it, especially because it gave him the opportunity to see his family every day at the store.  He was preceded in death by his wife Elaine; Brothers: Ray and Lyle Marsyla and his Sister Ramona Marsyla.
Warren is survived by his children: Kristine Lewis of Duluth, Keith and Sandy Marsyla of McGregor and Kory and Andrea Marsyla of Tamarack; Grandchildren: Kali (Matt), Ashley (Nick), Jared (Abby), Zerek (Hope), Jena (Kevin) and Dylan; Great-grandchildren: Klay, Kerrigan, Kendrix, Zeke, Zander, Aria, Zayne, Krew, Amelia and Jensen; Sisters and Brother: Verna Anderson, Harland (Joyce) Marsyla and Lenore (Tom) Bozell; and many other special relatives and friends.

In accordance with Warren’s wishes a private celebration of Warren’s life will be held with his immediate family at a later date.  In honor of Warren, do a favor for a neighbor or a friend this week. Let his legacy create a ripple of kindness in the lives of others.  Arrangements are with McGregor Funeral Home & Cremation Services in McGregor.  To leave a message of condolence  go to www.srtfuneral.com
