Wayne Gerald Wagner, Sr.

Wayne Gerald Wagner, Sr.  73 of Palisade passed away Friday July 12, 2024 at St. Cloud Hospital  surrounded by his loving family.  He was born on December 9, 1950 in Grand Rapids the son of Gerald and Donna (Musil) Wagner.  He graduated from Aitkin High School in 1968.  Wayne was united in marriage to Linda Sue (Lamke) on November 8, 1969 in Palisade.  In 1972 he enlisted in the US Navy and was a jet mechanic serving on the USS Enterprise.  He was honorably discharged from the US Navy and joined the National Guards where he continued to proudly serve his country.  His main occupation was a Millwright where he would  work numerous jobs with many friends he made along the way as well as his two sons.  He loved tinkering and working on engines, riding motorcycles and snowmobiles.  Wayne’s favorite times were spent with his family.  His grandchildren were very special to him and were always happy for gramps to spend quality time with them, such as 4-wheeler, lawn mower and snowmobile rides, piggy back rides in the swimming pool, watching wrestling, and all their sports activities.   In his later years Wayne enjoyed fishing and hunting with his sons and grandsons, as well as riding the side-by-side with his son.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years Linda;

2 sons and daughter-in-law: Wayne Wagner, Jr. and Jason (Tina) Wagner

6 grandchildren: Spencer Wagner, Rylee Wagner, Lexi (Andrew) Nihill, Bryce Wagner, Carson Wagner and Gavin Wagner;

8 great-grandchildren, plus one on the way;

And many other special relatives and friends who will greatly miss him.

A time of lunch, fellowship and sharing memories to celebrate Wayne’s life will be 1 – 4pm Saturday, July 20 2024 at the Waukenabo Town Hall, (36797 Grove Street - Palisade, MN.)
